ASTRATTO

La pittura di Alessandra Cantamessa si è evoluta rapidamente nell’arco di pochi anni, nel corso dei quali, da un approccio quasi pop è passata ad esprimersi con una sua personale poetica, utilizzando un linguaggio più informale, volto a rendere la forza e la capacità evocativa della materia. Pensati come appunti di viaggio, spesso i suoi quadri raccontano del suo passaggio in territori lontani, desertici e desolati, lasciando traccia sulla tela proprio della materia di cui quei luoghi sono permeati: sabbia, mute di serpente, terra spaccata e riarsa dal sole.
L’attitudine alla sperimentazione, manifestata fin dalle opere degli esordi e la tendenza alla tridimensionalità, affiorano prepotentemente nel percorso dell’artista, portandola, nella sua fase più matura, a destrutturare la tela fino al limite del basso rilievo. Opere come “Ronzinante” ispirata al destriero di Don Chisciotte o la serie “Nero” ben esprimono questa tensione.
Ma è con il vero e proprio esordio nella scultura e con il riappropriarsi della pietra come elemento anche autobiografico che l’artista giunge all’essenziale: “il marmo racchiude in sè la contrapposizione tra la freddezza della pietra e l’eleganza delle linee, la natura infatti insegna a cogliere l’essenza dei suoi elementi…”


Alessandra Cantamessa's painting has rapidly evolved within a few years: she went from an almost pop approach to expressing herself through her own personal poetics, using a more informal language aimed at conveying the force and evocative capability of matter. Her paintings, formulated as travel notes, often narrate her journeys in faraway, desert-like and desolate territories. These journeys leave a trace on canvas of the matter of which such territories are permeated with: sand, snakeskin and parched soil.
The aptitude to experimentation, which the artist showed since her first works, and the focus on three-dimensional art emerged assertively in her artistic path. These elements led the artist to deconstruct her paintings during her more mature artistic phase, almost creating bas-reliefs. Works such as "Rocinante", inspired by Don Quixote's horse, or the "Black" series, effectively express this technique.
However, it is with the sculptural debut and the reappropriation of stone, also an autobiographical element, that the artist achieved the essential interpretation: "marble holds in itself the juxtaposition of the coldness of stone and the elegance of shapes, indeed nature teaches us to understand the essence of its elements…"

Alessandra Cantamessa nata a Bergamo nel 1969, cresciuta ad Endine Gaiano (BG), dopo gli studi magistrali lavora come insegnante di scuola dell'infanzia che resta la sua occupazione da ormai trenta anni.
Vive a Ranzanico (BG).
Ha iniziato negli anni novanta a coltivare istintivamente il desiderio di sintetizzare su tela, i ricordi di viaggi ed esperienze di quanto va esplorando, a seguire la formazione autodidatta.
Il suo lavoro nell'astratto evolve con ricerche e tecniche nuove, utilizzando la materia con gusto minimalista e personale.

Nell’estate 2020 partecipa alla mostra collettiva diffusa in valle Camonica (BS) organizzata dalla Vi.P. Gallery di Virgilio Patarini.
Ad ottobre 2020, partecipa all’esposizione collettiva d’arte contemporanea ”Il mondo ed io” a palazzo Saluzzo Genova,
Dal 25 ottobre al 3 novembre 2020, espone la sua prima personale presso la Galleria Zamenhof Vi.P.Gallery Milano Alzaia Naviglio Grande.
Dal 4 al 15 giugno 2021 partecipa alla collettiva presso la MUEF ART GALLERY a ROMA con la rassegna SIAMO ANCORA VIVI promossa dalla Vi.P. Gallery di Virgilio Patarini (bs).
Dal 15 al 28 LUGLIO 2021 partecipa alla collettiva presso la galleria ITINERARTE di Venezia con la rassegna SIAMO ANCORA VIVI promossa dalla Vi.P. Gallery di Virgilio Patarini.

Dal 18 settembre al 7 novembre 2021 partecipa alla collettiva VENICE START 2021 contemporary art exibiton ARTERMINAL SAN BASILIO VENEZIA organizzata da ARTEEVENTS by MARIO MAZZOLENI.
Dal 2 al 10 luglio 2022, espone una personale “Suggestioni di Viaggio” presso Palazzo Re Meris a RANZANICO (BG).

Partecipa ai concorsi Biancoscuro vincendo nel 2022 uno dei premi Biancoscuro Art Magazine e nel 2023 entra nella selezione BAC Winter Edition vincendo con la scultura B001-2023-CA.

Alessandra Cantamessa, born in Bergamo in 1969, grown up in Endine Gaiano.
(Bg), after having studied to become a teacher, she started working as a nursery school teacher and has been working in the educational field for thirty years now.
She lives in Ranzanico (Bg).
In the nineties, after a self – taught training, she instinctively started to feel the need to synthesize on canvas the memories of her travels and experiences .
Her work in the field of abstract evolves thanks to research and new techniques.
She uses the materials with minimalistic and personal taste.
Alessandra Cantamessa participated in collective exhibitions such as:

In the summer of 2020 Alessandra Cantamessa participated in the collective multi-site exhibition, organised by Virgilio Patarini's Vi.P. Gallery, taking place in the Camonica Valley.
In October 2020, she participated in the collective exhibition of contemporary art "The World and I", at Saluzzo Palace in Genoa.
From the 25th of October to the 3rd of November 2020, she held her first personal exhibition at the Zamenhof Vi.P. Gallery, at Alzaia Naviglio Grande in Milan.
From the 4th to the 15th of June 2021, the artist participated in the collective exhibition at the MUEF ART GALLERY in ROME, in the context of the exhibition "WE ARE STILL ALIVE" promoted by Virgilio Patarini's Vi.P. Gallery (BS).
From the 15th to the 28th of July 2021, she took part in the collective exhibition taking place at the ITINERARTE Gallery in Venice, in the context of the exhibition "WE ARE STILL ALIVE" promoted by Virgilio Patarini's Vi.P. Gallery.
From the 18th of September to the 7th of November 2021, she participated in the collective "Venice Start 2021 Contemporary Art Exhibition" at Arterminal San Basilio, in Venice. The exhibition was organised by ARTEEEVENTS by MARIO MAZZOLENI.
From the 23rd of October to the 5th of November 2021, the artist exhibited her personal works in the exposition "The Time of Stones and Metals" at the Zamenhof Vi.P. Gallery at Rio Terà della Carità – Dorsoduro 1046, in Venice.
From the 2nd to the 10th of July 2022, she participated in the personal exhibition "The Enchantments of Travel" at Re Meris Palace in RANZANICO (BG).
In August 2023, she participated in the collective travelling exhibition "EXPLO3".
From the 24th of November to the 4th of December 2022, Alessandra Cantamessa took part in the collective exposition "Not Even with a Flower" organised by Giuliano Pe and Zanni Alessandro at the Torcol-Art exhibition centre in PISOGNE (BG).
From the 3rd to the 8th of February 2023, she participated in the collective exhibition "Torino Art Expo 2023", organised by Galleria Ducale.
From the 1st to the 9th of March 2021, she exhibited her personal works in the exposition "The Song of Matter" in Rome, at Muefartgallery. The exhibition was coordinated by Patarini Virgilio, the owner of the Vi.P. Gallery.
From the 8th of March to the 1st of April 2023, she participated in the collective exhibition "The Sign of Feminine", at the Contemporary Art Museum at Giovanelli Castle, Meli's donation, in LUZZANA (BG).
On the 11th and the 12th of March 2023, the artist took part in the collective exhibition "Feminine Plural" at Re Meris Palace in RANZANICO (BG).
Alessandra Cantamessa participated in the Biancoscuro contests, winning one of the Biancoscuro Art Magazine prizes in 2022. In 2023, the artist entered the BAC Winter Edition selection and won with the B001-2023-CA sculpture.
From the 1st of April to the 1st of May 2023, she participated in the collective exhibition "CONTEMPORANEA/MENTE" at the San Bartolomeo cultural centre in Bergamo, organised by ARTEEVENTS by MARIO MAZZOLENI.
From the 1st to the 31st of July 2023, the artist participated in the collective travelling exhibition at Re Meris palace in Ranzanico (BG), in the context of the exposition "Method and Madness", promoted by Virgilio Patarini's Vi.P. Gallery. The exhibition continued from the 26th of August to the 27th of September 2023 in two museum spaces of the Camonica Valley (BS), and from the 14th of October to the 4th of November in some museum spaces in Soncino (Cremona).
From the 1st to the 15th of July 2023, she participated in the collective exhibition "BERGAMO art expo 2023", organised by Galleria Ducale at Manzù hall.
On the 13th of August 2023, she participated in the SELVINO ARTFESTIVAL 2023, winning a jury prize.
From the 13th to the 19th of August 2023, Alessandra Cantamessa participated in the collective exhibition held at the new "Casa delle Arti" headquarters, in Pisogne (BS).
From the 22nd to the 24th of September 2023, she participated in a collective exhibition at "Arte in Festa", organised by "Casa delle Arti" (Pisogne).
From the 30th of September to the 8th of October 2023, she took part in the collective exhibition "CALUSCO ARTFESTIVAL" at San Fedele Civic centre, in Calusco d'Adda.
From the 20th to the 22nd of October 2023, she exhibited her works at MILANO SCULTURA, with the UNCODE gallery. The exhibition took place at Fabbrica del Vapore, in Milan.
